Patented carousel

The patented carousel is the critical component of the revolving satellite complication. It is responsible for not only the rotation of the hour satellites but also the integral telescopic minute hands.

Telescopic minutes hands

A telescopic minutes hands displays time by precisely adjusting its length to follow the three sectors marking the minutes.

Transporters

High precision 'transporters' are used to control the variable length of the minute hands. One end of each transporter follows a cam plotting the path of the minute indication, while the other controls the precise length of the minute hands.

Moon phase indication

The Moon phase is a disk marked with Super-LumiNova®.

Day and Night indicator

The Day/Night indicator is a rotating disk marked with dark Super-LumiNova® for the night, satin finish for the day and a striped mix for dusk/dawn.

Twin turbines

Cutting-edge miniature twin turbines – miniature compressors – can be seen spinning on the back of the UR-202. They are coupled to the winding rotor and act as shock absorbers.

Airflow

The spinning turbines force air through holes into a tiny air chamber. The selector switch controls the amount of air escaping from the turbines. By restricting the airflow, air pressure increases and slows down the turbines and the winding rotor.

3-position selector switch

The turbines are controlled by a 3-position selector switch:
FREE - where the turbines spin freely.
SPORT - where the winding rate is reduced.
STOP - where the UR-202 operates as a manual wind watch.
